Extra Recruitment are recruiting for a coded Mig welder in Tamworth for a supplier of formwork, scaffolding and safety technology.


Job Description of a Mig Welder

  • Salary: £13 £14
  • Working Hours of Welder are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm:
  • Location: Tamworth B77 1LT

Mig Welder Duties Include:


  • Welding metal parts using MIG or Stick welding equipment. Welding techniques include but are not limited to TIG welding, MIG welding, and Stick welding.
  • Cutting metal parts using grinders or saws. Cutters include but are not limited to mill saws, band saws, etc. Cutters are able to cut parts that would not be possible to cut with a MIG welders such as holes or cuts that would not be made with a stick welder.
  • Clean up after each shift by sweeping the shop floor and cleaning tools and equipment. Sweep floors using broom and mop when necessary. Sweep ceiling areas using vacuum cleaner when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by management including other duties as assigned by management such as painting walls or completing other tasks in the shop or other areas of the facility as assigned by management.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs safely at all times while working in the shop area and on the job site in general. Must be able to lift 50 lbs safely at all times while working in the shop area and on the job site while performing tasks such as building welds or other tasks as assigned by management. Must be able to stand for long periods of time while working in the shop area and on the job site where you will be welding with all types of welder equipment including Mig welders, Stick welding machines, grinders, saws, grind wheels etc. Must be able to bend over repeatedly while working in the shop area and on the job site where you will be welding with all types of saws, grinders etc. Must have excellent hand eye coordination while bending over frequently while working in the shop area and on the job site where you will be welding with all types of grinders etc.
