Due to expansion our client is looking for a Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join their already expanding team at their new purpose built manufacturing plant with project management of a new racking and MRP system implementation experise.

This is a HUGELY exciting time to join this rapidly growing business, becoming an integral part of a new and growing team.

Your new role as our Warehouse and Logistics Manager will be to understand what the business needs from their new warehouse and systems, start the implementation phases, to then enjoy the fruits of your labour working for a world class manufacturing company.

Forging strong relationships with the management team and moulding a strong site team to work under you.


Responsibilities in Your New Role -

  • Become and intricate part of the management team as well as the project team for the new Warehouse and MRP system implementation
  • Be responsible for sourcing the correct vehicles for use within the warehouse environment
  • Liaise with purchasing, planning, Production teams, and other integral departments to ensure that materials are available to facilitate the production schedule.
  • Be able to discuss warehousing issues with customers or auditors during factory visits.
  • To offload incoming goods, inspect the receipt for transit damage, check the delivery against the supplied paperwork & pass the documentation to the relevant parties.
  • To locate all materials in the warehouse & maintain an accurate location record.
  • To pick materials from the warehouse in a timely manner to meet the production schedule.
  • To collate component returns from production orders & relocate within the warehouse.
  • To record all issues & returns on the appropriate pick list, calculate net usage & return to the Stock Controller for reconciliation.
  • To ensure that all materials kept in the warehouse are suitably protected to prevent spoilage.
  • To strictly maintain a "FIFO" protocol for all materials.
  • To receive filled stock from the production department & hold in readiness for despatch.
  • To ensure that where appropriate, only goods with micro quarantine release are despatched.
  • To inspect all collection vehicles to ensure they are in a suitable condition to transport the goods without damage (water tight; sound load deck etc).
  • Attend production planning meetings with a view to anticipating any warehousing issues.
  • Oversee the collection of accurate data & ensure it is communicated to the relevant parties.
  • Effective management of staff including holiday planning and overtime cover as required to meet business demand.
  • Manage any people issues in line with company policy and procedure, working with HR to resolve
  • All Health and Safety, Ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety rules & procedures, seeking guidance of the H & S Manager when required
  • Ensure that all machinery / equipment is maintained and used in a safe manner at all times
  • Ensure housekeeping is of a sufficient standard to meet safety & external audit requirements.
  • Ensure any accidents are investigated promptly and consequent corrective actions are implemented as soon as possible.
  • Ensure that the disciplinary procedure is followed for individuals who break or flout Health & Safety rules and procedures.
  • Organisational ability & GMP
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload & workload of subordinates.
  • Ensure that all subordinates comply with the Company's GMP Standard and wear the appropriate work wear correctly.
  • Maintain the workplace is maintained in a clean and tidy manner.

Skills and experience you will have for your new role:

  • FIFO Disciplinaries
  • Experience of warehouse and logistics management
  • Experience in implementing an MRP & Handheld scanning System is highly advantageous
  • Strong organisational ability to optimise use of the labour resource available.
  • Ability to work efficiently & accurately under pressure.
  • Be able to prioritise & plan tasks to meet the business requirements.
  • FLT License
  • Supervisory experience essential
