The Financial Accounting Lead is responsible for the provision of accurate financial reporting across the Hamilton, East Kilbride and Cardiff sites, whilst ensuring a culture of continuous improvement surrounds financial processes, controls and governance.

They will assist the Financial Controller with the day-to-day running of the financial control function, as well as providing key support during external and internal audits.

This role is based at our Hamilton site with hybrid working as an option.

On occasion you may be required to attend one of our other sites for meetings, therefore willingness to travel is essential.

This is what you'll actually do


The Financial Accounting Lead will have a strong focus on financial controls across the three Cake entities, ensuring they are continually reviewed and enhanced to meet the evolving requirements of the business.

They will be responsible for completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and attending monthly reviews with the Operational Finance and Supply Chain Finance teams.


To be successful in this this role, they will be required to deliver accurate, robust and insightful financial reporting in a timeous manner.

Also deliver complete and accurate balance sheet substantiations, As well as continual development of processes and controls to ensure excellent financial governance.


Ideally this is you
- _Degree in accountancy or similar relevant qualification_
- _Newly qualified accountant (ie ACCA/CIMA) or part qualified/QBE depending on experience_
- _Has a passion for excellence_
- _Excellent focus on process and procedure development and enhancement._
- _Consistent accuracy and attention to detail_
- _Strong communicator and relationship builder_
- _Strong determination and shows tenacity when facing challenging situations_
- _Strong stakeholder management_
- _Able to prioritise multiple tasks to tight deadlines_
- _Excellent Excel Modelling skills_
- _Prior experience with complex ERP and P2P systems_
