The UK Schools team at OUP publish a wide range of successful educational products for ages 3 to 18, working with teachers, educational partners, and industry experts to ensure maximum impact on educational outcomes.


ABOUT THE ROLE


This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact in education by leading a passionate and creative team in the role of Head of Editorial and Delivery for Secondary and STEM.


This newly created role will report into the Product Director, and lead the editorial and product delivery function to deliver high-impact, quality content, on time and on budget.


You will be responsible for the prioritisation and management of editorial resource in-line with strategic business priorities, and effective visibility and a management of product pipelines and lists through management of the product delivery managers.


You will continually identify and develop more effective ways of working, and establish excellent relationships with Product, Design, and Digital functions by fostering a 'one team' mentality.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.


ABOUT YOU


This role could be an excellent opportunity for an existing Editorial Manager or Publisher to take on an important leadership role.


Essential:

  • Action and delivery orientated
  • Ability to connect, communicate, and inspire
  • Open and adaptable to change
  • Can demonstrate a track record of managing and delivering large and complex projects and programmes
  • Extensive editorial and project management experience gained in educational publishing and across print and digital
  • Proven team leadership, line management, negotiating, and influencing skills, with strong financial management skills.

Desirable:

  • Detailed knowledge of UK Schools Publishing
