Sewell Wallis are delighted to be working exclusively with a leading manufacturing business in Leeds, who are looking to appoint a European Tax Manager.

Reporting to the Vice President - Tax, based in the US, this is a pivotal role within the organisation where you will take responsibility for European indirect tax impacts of proposed business initiatives as well as managing the European value added tax compliance.


Key responsibilities will also include:

  • Overseeing VAT compliance and reporting processes at the European plants
Supporting overseas VAT compliance with the assistance of tax consultants
Consulting on VAT implications of new sales agreements with reference to post-Brexit concerns
Working with business units to improve VAT sourcing systems and resolving VAT disputes
Co-ordinating European indirect tax account reconciliations
Maintaining the company's global indirect tax inventory
Supporting the quarterly income tax provision of a number of European locations
Assisting with European annual income tax return filings
Co-ordinating tax payments for UK and German locations, working closely with the Plant Controller and Finance Managers
Working closely with the US international Tax Manager with the compilation of transfer pricing


Requirements:

Qualified Accountant / Tax qualified
Ideally experience of working within a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion is desirable
First class communication and analytically skills
Strong attention to detail
