Join an oil and gas operator who are looking for an Offshore SSU Leader on a 6 month PAYE basis.
As the SSU Offshore Leader, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Monitoring and improving operational HSE performance for the installation.
- Implementing and assuring HSE management system on the installation.
- Ensuring incidents are thoroughly investigated so that lessons can be learnt and are effectively communicated across other sites and groups.
- Ensuring effective delivery of emergency response plan activities on the installation.
- Providing health and safety support, advice, and guidance on work processes to Offshore Leadership Team.
- Demonstrating visible safety leadership at all levels of the organisation.
- Building strong relationship with SI971 Safety Representatives.
- Ensuring compliance to the HSE elements of the management system and providing support to the Offshore Teams through training and coaching when required.
- Delivering assurance and selfassessment activities on the installation.
- Liaising with Offshore Medic to ensure compliance to occupational health and working environment work processes and monitoring activities.
- Undertaking duties as part of Line 1 Emergency Response Team and ensuring emergency response and oil spill response arrangements are effective for the installation.
- Ensuring that all incidents are correctly reported internally and to authorities; ensuring all cases are followed up to ensure action closure.
- Analysing incident data to identify trends and improvement opportunities for the installation.
- Ensuring effective engagement on HSE issues through safety meetings, briefings and communications.
- Taking an active role in building safety culture on the installation.
- Driving intervention programmes across the teams on the installation.
- Participating in and drive the risk assessment process for tasks and activities for the installation.
- Taking an active role within industry bodies such as step change and OEUK to ensure good practice is adopted.
Key Experience/Qualifications:
- NEBOSH diploma or Equivalent essential.
- Experience of working in Offshore Supervisory role preferable.
- Experience of UK oil and gas operations and regulatory regime preferable.
- Experience of drilling or project activities preferred but not essential.
- Must be able to travel offshore and be prepared to work flexible working pattern.
- Experience of incident investigation and follow up essential.
- Experience of implementing behavioural safety programs preferable.
