- be both an inspirational and excellent classroom practitioner
- demonstrates the ability to lead, motivate, influence, and inspire staff through a proactive, solution-based and collaborative approach
- has a passion for SEND and a willingness to undertake the SEND accreditation (Funded by Barr View), if not already held
- an excellent understanding of the National Curriculum and how it relates to SEND and other statutory guidance
- an ability to effectively liaise with pupils, colleagues, parents, and outside agencies
- an ability to lead, review, develop and implement policy change
- confidence to lead on staff training and professional development
- developed outstanding inclusive practice through their ethos, their current practice, and their inclusion of all pupils
- have a good understanding of the use of tracking, assessment, monitoring and data analysis as an effective tool to accelerate progress and raise achievement
- be keen to learn and develop their skills as a School Leader
Main areas of responsibility will include:
- leading SEND across the school
- other key areas to be agreed upon appointment
- teaching groups / classes for up to 3 days per week
- to ensure all funding is identified, accessed and traced
