About the role


Join our dynamic Early Years Provider team as a Junior Buyer, contributing to the procurement process to ensure the continuous supply of high-quality materials and resources for our centres.

This role involves collaborating with suppliers, monitoring inventory levels, and assisting in cost negotiations to optimise budgetary efficiency.

The Junior Buyer will play a crucial role in maintaining a seamless supply chain for the diverse needs of our early education settings.

Responsibilities:


Supplier Relations:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions.
  • Source and identify new suppliers for materials and resources.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet the demands of our early education centres.
  • Implement efficient stock rotation and replenishment strategies.

Cost Analysis and Negotiation:

  • Assist in analysing product costs and participate in negotiations to achieve costeffective procurement.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement team to identify costsaving opportunities.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all purchased items meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Address any quality issues with suppliers promptly and proactively.

Order Processing:

  • Generate purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Track and expedite orders to meet delivery deadlines.

Market Research:

  • Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and innovations in early years education materials.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the procurement process.
Key skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field would be desirable.
  • Experience in a similar buying role.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detailoriented with a keen eye for quality.
  • Familiarity with early years education materials is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
