What we're looking for?


We're looking for an Asset Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract to support the delivery of legislative compliance, as well as the WWU Business Plan for these assets and delivery of the associated safety and reliability outputs in accordance with the relevant Business Operating Model.


We'll trust you to:


  • Manage the daytoday Asset Management activities associated with maintenance, inspection, compliance and operation of above ground assets. Leading a small team of technical administrative staff and engaging with contractors delivering some activities.
  • Monitor and review maintenance and inspection results, including day to day management of the fault process, maintaining necessary records.
  • Provide support to periodic fault analysis to inform future maintenance regimes.
  • Periodically review and update of related Policies, Procedures and Specifications.
  • Day to day management of processes and systems delivering compliance under applicable legislation, including sample audit.
  • Support the Asset Manager in the development and subsequent delivery of the Intervention Plan for the relevant asset groups as required.

You'll need to have:
  • Technical qualifications and an engineering background would be desirable.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the business.
  • Knowledge of the key legislation applicable
  • An appreciation of the range of WWU asset groups and their function
  • Experience in the use of core work/asset management and records systems
