We are now recruiting a Locum Appointment for Training (LAT) in Infectious Diseases / Internal Medicine.

The post will primarily be based in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee for 12 months commencing 2nd August 2023 ending 6th August 2024.

The Infection Unit at Ninewells Hospital aims to deliver high quality care for patients with all kinds of infection.

We are responsible for inpatient care of patients with community, healthcare and travel-associated infection, in addition to contributing to outpatient management of patients with tuberculosis, HIV and viral hepatitis.

We also have responsibility for patients managed via our outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) service.

Inpatient service is delivered by a core team of on-call ID physician for the week with support from specialty registrars, internal medicine trainees, specialist nurses and antimicrobial pharmacy team.

We conduct consults across general and specialist areas including antimicrobial stewardship activities and
provide advice to colleagues in primary and secondary care.

The successful applicant will also contribute to the general medicine registrar rota for Ninewells Hospital.

Tayside encompasses Angus, Dundee, Perth and Kinross, which has a diverse range of cities, towns and countryside and is an attractive place to live with all other major cities in Scotland within easy reach.
