About the role


As Research and Data Officer at Good Things Foundation you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of our impact and evaluation work that helps us tell the story of who we are helping and the difference we are making both to individuals and community partners.

The Officer will make a significant contribution to the organisation and administration of research and evaluation activities across the team, as well as helping collect and interpret data on our impact.


We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual who is good at making sense of data and large amounts of information, likes to understand why people do what they do and enjoys working out how you communicate what you learn effectively to others.

You will be approachable and empathetic and be comfortable talking to people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.


Research experience is not essential as long as you have the drive and interest to learn these. We can give you the opportunity to learn these on the job.


You will provide support to members of the team, will work with the data you collect to help build knowledge and understanding and identify insights about the way our model works and the difference that it is making.

Working alongside our Research and Evaluation Manager, Data Analyst and Data Operations Manager you will help draw knowledge together to build an evidence base that helps support decision making.

Essential experience
As an applicant it is essential that you are able to demonstrate that you possess the following experience, knowledge, skills, education, and qualifications:

  • Experience of project and diary management
  • juggling multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent writing skills copywriting and report writing.
  • Confident with data and simple analysis using excel or google sheets able to manipulate data and use simple pivot tables
  • Experience of producing and providing data to others in a format that is consistent and highlights key pieces of information
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Experience of working on own initiative but also being a member of a wider team
  • Experience of working or volunteering in a fastpaced environment (or proven appetite to gain this experience

Salary:
£23,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
