Project Worker (Mental Health) - Part Time

We are seeking an experienced Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our clients at Acre Lane, part of the Lambeth Low Level Mental Health Supported Housing Service, providing support to clients experiencing mental health issues to develop their independence skills and to move on to independent living.


This position will be covering shifts at our other Lambeth locations, Bonnington Square (18 hours) and Dorset Road (9 hours), with the office based at Acre Lane.


We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

Sanctuary have their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Ensuring properties are being maintained to a good standard
  • Overseeing rent and taking control with issues regarding payments
  • Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Providing encouragement to clients to complete the daily communal cleaning of the accommodation
  • Assisting clients with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Being a part of a small on site team, with the occasional need for lone working
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping clients to build their confidence, resilience and selfesteem
  • Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks

Skills and experiences:


  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults and people with mental health needs
  • A positive, cando attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management, and an understanding of occupancy agreement
  • Experience in risk assessment and safeguarding
  • Accurate recording keeping is essential
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft outlook
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is essential
  • A desire to help vulnerable people make positive changes in their lives and to remain calm in what can be challenging situations
