We have afull-time permanent Band 7 postwithin our adult community SLT team inBarnetand are looking for a skilled, motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist who would like to join us.


Are you looking for an interesting and varied Adult Speech and Language Therapy post working acrosstwoof the following MDT services: the Parkinson's Service, the Early Supported Discharge team and the Inpatient Rehabilitation Wards.


The SLT service as a whole covers a range of teams including: Community Planned Care, Frailty, Post-Covid, Inpatient Rehabilitation Wards, the Parkinson's service, the Home Enteral Tube Feeding Team, a Voice service, and the Early Supported Discharge team. We offer care in clinics, in the patients' homes and in some in-patient settings.


This post will largely be covering a varied dysphagia caseload, however there will also be an opportunity to work with patients with communication impairments.

This post offers the opportunity to develop your supervisory skills, to work with a knowledgeable range of professionals and also to contribute to service development.


For community based roles CLCH has rolled out mobile working allowing full access to clinical systems off-base and supports flexible working.

CLCH offers a range of training and development opportunities as well as excellent supervision and management support.

There is a support network of SLTs locally in Barnet as well as across CLCH, with regular meetings where clinical and professional issues can be discussed.

  • Be an active member of the clinical team, providing a comprehensive specialist Speech & Language Therapy service to residents of Barnet.
  • To be independent with managing both communication and dysphagia caseloads.
  • Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner including assessing and treating own caseload of patients/patients and maintaining professional documentation.
  • Build up and maintain key relationships with referring services/ Inpatient Rehabilitation Units/ Learning Disabilities / HEFT Service / Parkinson's / voluntary and third sector organisations and acute stroke services and members of the multidisciplinary team.
