About the role

Reporting into the Head of Procurement, the senior buyer will manage the creation and implementation of procurement and commercial strategies within their product portfolio.

They are responsible for the delivery of a structured sourcing and fulfilment strategy, targeted to deliver significant efficiencies and cost savings, demonstrating value and increasing company profitability.

Supporting Sales, Business Management and the wider business, the senior buyer will provide supply chain intelligence to assist in converting opportunities, seek incremental margin and proactively inform the wider business of any market changes.

They will manage the Jigsaw24 stock profile through demand planning activity, supporting sales opportunities and proactively ensuring the sell through of any problematic stock.

Mentor and coach a team of buyers to enhance their career and professional development
Ensure adequate cover and succession planning to mitigate any potential exposures within the team
Identify, design and implement new workflows and system improvements to maximise output from the buyer's
Monitor performance of purchasing activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management with recommended improvement measures where needed
Discuss larger opportunities with internal/external stakeholders to gain an understanding of the demand and customer requirement. To ensure goods and services are in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
Working closely with commercial teams to assess opportunities to ensure that the demand for products is sufficiently pipelined with suppliers, with a view to convert a sale as quickly and efficiently as possible

About you

Strong, proactive communication skills, able to gain commitment and buyin to a common vision and clearly stated goals
Commercial acument providing the ability to make and justify decisions
Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge with regards to products and processes
Demonstrate experience in a senior buyer role or similar commercial role within the IT sector
Resillient, selfmotivated and able to work under pressure
Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
Ideally a BTEC in Business Administration or IT
