The Director of Finance and Resources


MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

Working under the direction of the Director of Finance and Resources to:

  • Ensure that whole school regulatory and legal requirements are met
  • Ensure compliance by the Governors, Headteacher, the Senior Leadership Team and therefore the school with specific aspects of the law, appropriate regulatory frameworks and current guidance.

Including but not limited to:
○ Data Protection

○ Copyright and Intellectual property

○ Educational and Off Site Visits

○ Education, Skills and Funding Agency (ESFA) Internal Scrutiny requirements

○ Statutory and non-statutory policies and procedures

  • Undertake the role of Governance Professional coordinating the efficient functioning of a governing board and its committees by providing:
  • administrative and organisational support including the organisation, administration and clerking of all statutory and non-statutory panels
- advice on procedural matters relating to the operation of the board


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support the work of the Governing Body through the professional provision of:
○ well informed, researched guidance and support on constitutional, statutory and procedural governance

○ high quality, detailed organisation and administrative support including in conjunction with the Company Secretary updating and maintaining the key information requirements, 'Getting Information About Schools', Companies House and the school website

○ membership management, effectively coordinating onboarding of newly appointed governors including induction and training

  • Ensure that the whole school regulatory and legal requirements are met by:
○ Coordinating, reporting and monitoring whole school Internal Scrutiny inline with the Academies Trust Handbook requirements

○ Working and liaising with the school's external Data Protection Officer (DPO) to provide responsive and ad hoc advice in relation to all data protection matters

○ Coordinating all Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests across the school to ensure compliance is met

○ Supporting the development and delivery of staff training on GDPR and whole school data protection practices

○ Coordinating all reporting of data protection incidents including near misses

○ Managing the GDPR platform ensuring it is up to date including the maintenance of Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), details of interested parties and information asset registers.

○ Managing and coordinating the school's annual data protection audi
