Description

We're looking for a passionate, values-driven Head of Partnerships & Analytics to support Imperial College Health Partners in delivering complex change by bringing a breadth of economic, statistical, and analytical skills.

You will also bring energy and empathy to bear in the development, execution, and management of the data analysis within projects.

The role of Head of Partnerships & Analytics is to support this type of complex change by bringing a breadth of project leadership, management and analytical skills.

You will also plan and oversee project teams that undertake delivery of analytics work, drawing on skills and practices relating to problem definition, scoping and planning, research and analysis, project management, and reflecting and learning.

The role will proactively engage with the NHS, industry, and academia to use real world evidence to underpin a range of projects covering demand and capacity modelling, economic evaluations, and retrospective research projects to add to our pipeline, bringing investment and the latest innovations to our local sector.

This role will operate in an environment of significant complexity and ambiguity, taking time to understand the context of the operating environment and demonstrating good judgement (including seeking counsel from others when needed); and offer support and guidance for others seeking advice.

Imperial College Health Partners (ICHP) is a not-for-profit organisation, established by its constituent NHS and academic members.

We exist to improve population health, and we do that by supporting partners to understand complex problems, to innovate, and to implement new approaches sustainably within complex systems.

ICHP is also the designated Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) for North West London - one of 15 across England.

We are funded through local member contributions, national NHS income as well as commercial income to ensure sustainability.

ICHP aims to revolutionise the way health data is used responsibly for research into treating and preventing disease and host Discover-NOW, a health data research Hub which brings together NHS organisations, globally recognised academic, industry, technology, research and charity partners as well as patients and the public focussed on the use of real-world health data for research.

  • You take a lead role in clarifying the problem that our work is trying to solve. You explore the context of the situation, the stated and unstated issues that shape the request for support, and you support clients to reflect productively on the questions that they want to address and why.
  • You play a lead role in scoping work and ensuring the development of project plans, so that the work we do is directly related to solving / resolving the problem we are trying to address. You actively seek out examples of similar projects we have undertaken within ICHP.
  • You proactively look within the organisation for examples of similar projects we have undertaken, and involve colleagues (and external specialists) who have expertise in this area of work; and you consider the range of skills in the organisation to make proposals about the team resources required to undertake the work successfully. You play a lead role in taking proposals through internal and external signoff processes.
  • You oversee and finalise the planning of appropriate tasks within the project, giving consideration to a wide range of complex activities, including stakeholder management, clinical expert groups and project governance groups; and you make informed judgements about the phasing and feasibility of tasks given decisionpoints, governance meetings and project resources
  • You oversee and guide the identification of internal team members for particular projects, and you lead on the identification of external individuals or partners including clinical principle investigators and sponsors, to enable robust and affordable delivery of analytical projects
  • You are responsible for selecting appropriate methods of research to address the defined problem / client need, giving consideration to qualitative and quantitative methods; and making recommendations about the most suitable and feasible approach given practical constraints of time and resources. You will involve domain experts from within ICHP's various skills centres, and act as an expert in one or more domains of research and analysis.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that health data approaches are appropriately rigorous and systematic (i.e. proportionate to the scope of the task)
  • You will ensure that research and analysis findings and conclusions undergo relevant quality checks and quality assurance, finding collaborative and constructive ways to help build conversations about the interpretation of evidence within a project (e.g. by setting up and participating in internal review sessions); and you will proactively involve other experts within ICHP where their input is required.
