Salary:
National ranging from £38,300- £45,000 and London £40,700 - £47,000

  • Are you interested in helping to ensure that the Controls, Capabilities & Frameworks (CCF) Directorate within Supervision, Policy & Competition (SPC) has welldefined and resourced plans for delivering strategic business plan priorities, that the Division's financial performance and use of resources is optimised, that strategic decisionmaking and operational performance is assured through effective governance, and that there are robust and rehearsed crisis management plans in place?_
This opportunity sits within the Business Management, Change and Operations (BMC&O) team. The team sits within the newly created Business Directed Change (BDC) department in SPC.

The department leads strategic projects that accelerate the FCA's ambition to become a more data-led and outcomes-focused regulator, supports business-led product ownership for technology enabled transformation, acts as the custodian of SPC's operating model, and ensures that change is effectively embedded across SPC.

It is also responsible for overseeing and running SPC's governance committees and supporting the division with effective business planning and oversight of its strategic projects.


BDC is one of two departments in the SPC Controls, Capabilities and Frameworks (CCF) Directorate - a growing area within the largest front-line operations division of the FCA.

Our purpose is to drive excellence within the operational frameworks of SPC to support our Executive Directors and Directors to deliver the FCA's strategic outcomes and regulatory obligations.

We act as the single point of contact for central FCA functions, and we work across SPC's 12 directorates to deliver consistent, compliant, and efficient ways of working.

What you will be doing


The BMC&O team works flexibly across this broad remit and is seeking a competent and capable individual to work across several of the team's responsibilities.


You will be responsible for managing communication and engagement on behalf of the CCF Directorate to the wider SPC Division and supporting the secretariat function within the team for SPC's governance committees which include the Risk and Operations Committee (ROC), Quarterly Assurance Forum (QAF) and Business Implementation Committee (BIC).

- You will support on the running of the Business Implementation Committee through adherence to and improving of BIC processes- You will support the secretariats of the other SPC governance committees where the need arises- You will produce monthly editions of the Operational Bulletin, actively contributing to the monthly/quarterly cycles of operational reporting provided to Directors and Executive Directors- Alongside other Associates and Senior Associates in the team, you will be providing back-up and resilience across several the team's responsibilities, therefore you will need to ensure you are sufficiently knowledgeable to be able to step-in to provide cover or additional capacity at times of high demand
