RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide specialist advice focused on Consumer Credit (CCA, CONC and Consumer Rights Act) and related consumer regulatory matters for the entire Group.
  • Contribute to customer documents, customer journeys, standardised legal agreements and relevant Group legal policies.
  • Review, draft and advise on customer documentation (regulated, exempt and unregulated), advise and help to manage in relation to associated disputes.
  • Ensure a consistent approach is adopted in relation to consumer credit matters across the Group.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance with various matters, including (but not limited to) enforceability, affordability, vulnerable customers and arrears processes.
  • Assist with bespoke finance and other commercial transactions working closely with business teams.
  • Attend key internal and external meetings such as Finance and Leasing Association meetings and Customer Forums.
Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required?


WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

  • You have consumer credit and regulatory specialist (or demonstrable experience) with first rate academic credentials, demonstrable intellectual abilities and an excellent career track record to date.
  • You are capable of communicating to all levels of the business.
  • You have legal qualification: 2+ years PQE with Consumer Credit/CONC specialism

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:

  • Have an understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Have an understanding of motor and premium finance industry
  • Have business orientated with experience to cover consumer credit retail products and other broadbased legal regulatory risk issues, including internal management of minor litigation,arising across the Group's product spectrum.
  • Have proven ability to understand and provide incisive, commercial and proactive advice on a broad spectrum of matters.
  • Have in house experience a significant advantage
