The JLR Classic business is dedicated to creating and supplying authentic cars, providing a service offering as well as genuine parts supply in both UK and Germany.

In addition, Classic maintains and utilises a collection of 100+ Heritage vehicles.


Bowler Motors is a separate legal entity acquired by JLR in 2019, focussed on rally and racing linked to the Defender product.


Within this role you'll lead a team of two and together you will provide high quality business partnering support to the Classic team to drive improved profitability across four business units: Classic UK, Classic Germany, E Commerce and Global parts.

Classic is a 'business within a business' and as a result you will get a rare opportunity to influence vehicle programme financials as well as fiscal year income statement and balance sheet target delivery - it's a great opportunity to touch all parts of the business As part of Classic's growth aspirations there will be opportunity to shape commercial relationships with strategic partners.


WHAT TO EXPECT
As the Finance Business Partner - Classic Works you'll be responsible for:

  • Lead finance business partner to Business Development, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales and Aftermarket
  • Review and optimise vehicle programme business cases and assumptions including financial targets, feasibility of timing, sales planning, revenue generation and costs
  • Finance lead on Classic Cycle plan: work with team to deliver profitable growth for JLR Classic. Help the team prioritise resource to maximise profit making opportunities
  • Finance lead with

Classic Germany:
key finance business partner to the MD of Classic Germany which is a separate legal entity

  • Support business case development for partnership opportunities which support global growth and sustainability opportunities
  • Support integration of Bowler into JLR Classic
  • Ensure robust governance around inventory and asset controls, including Classic vehicle inventory, parts inventory
  • Overall responsibility for financial reporting and control at Classic, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting using a suite of wellestablished processes and controls

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:

  • Sound financial and commercial business acumen shown through evidence of developing, introducing new or innovative practices/processes in support of strategic business goals.
  • Exceptional numerical, analytical skills supported by advanced communication and presentation skills used to translate financial issues for operational teams
  • Proven strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop and nurture relationships
  • Ability to multitask, work accurately at speed and under pressure balancing delivery of conceptual work with attention to detail and hands on delivery
  • Customer focused ability to determine service requirements and performance measures, and initiate solutions
  • Continuous improvement 'mind set' with the ability to identify and implement robust solutions and enhancements

Desirable:

  • CIMA or ACCA qualified or working towards
