Description

A prominent and high-growth family-owned business based in Medway, has a vacancy for an established Management Accountant to join them in a newly created role.

This is a friendly, collaborative finance team and they are looking for someone like minded who is a real team player and happy to roll their sleeves up and help where needed.

This role is full-time and fully office based.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your role will be to provide financial support with a variety of accounting tasks.

Role and Responsibilities

Preparation and review of monthly Management Accounts

Maintenance of Balance Sheet Reconciliations to audit level standard

Monthly Variance analysis including turnover and profit margin analysis

Assist in overhead cost control, forecasting and provide supporting variances

Overseeing the work of the team including prepayments, accruals, and Inter-Company schedules

Perform credit control duties, chasing retention and debtor payments when required

Accurately prepare and review monthly VAT returns

Establish relationships with managers and other colleagues to obtain and report financial information

Working with external stakeholders, such as the bank and factors

Assist with improving processes and procedures to support operational efficiencies and cost controls

Assist in cashflow management and forecasting

Support with Payroll/HR duties which may include payroll processing (cover basis)

Reporting to Management and Directors including KPI's, cash, budget vs actual and forecasting

Provide support and cover to other members of the team where required

Ensuring we are compliant with making payment to HMRC in a timely manner

Involved in Year End procedures and annual audits

What you will need

Extensive experience in a Management Accountant position with the ability to work unaided

Excellent Excel skills

Ideally ACCA, CIMA or ACA Part-Qualified but will consider QBE

Excellent communicator and team player

Used to working in a busy, fast paced environment
