The Associate Director Leadership, Organisational Development and Learning is part of the Trust Leadership Team and is responsible for helping to shape and strengthen the Trust's capability, culture, and performance.


Reporting to the Director of People and Business Development, you will lead and motivate a team delivering organisational development strategic initiatives, consultancy services, education and learning development programs, coaching support and digital L&D solutions whilst engaging with leaders across the Trust and the system to ensure alignment and a positive impact.


Responsibilities include designing, developing, implementing and commissioning a range of strategic leadership, learning and organisational development interventions to support the delivery of Trust's workforce strategy.


Outcomes include improving culture, leadership and educational development including talent management through Inclusion, Leadership and Employee Experience across the Trust.


You will have proven success in leading a leadership, organisational development and learning function in a large, complex organisation and leading organisational and cultural change, talent management, leadership development, learning, and performance management.

Strong analytical, project management, negotiating, influencing and strategic planning capabilities are a must.

The ability to oversee a thriving department and ensure first class customer service to our directorates and corporate functions is essential.

  • With the Director of People and Business Development design and develop an ambitious investment plan for Leadership across the Trust focussed on improving Inclusion, Leadership and Engagement. This programme will align with the overall ambition of the Shaping our Future Programme to improve the culture of the organisation.
  • To work with the Chief Nurse to support the design and delivery of nonmedical educational programmes and appropriate learning relevant to professional background.
  • As a Senior Leader for Workforce within the ICS to promote our unique perspective whilst appreciating the areas of commonality and advantages of collaboration and unification across the system to design, develop and implement common approaches to improvement and transformation, as part of developing a shared culture of learning and development
  • Deputise for the Executive Director of People and Business Development as required.
  • To take a lead in the development, coordination, and delivery of CPFT's People Strategy aligning it to the NHS Long Term Plan and National People Promise
  • To lead, facilitate cultural and transformational change in support of new ways of working across the Trust.
  • Lead a specialist team of Leadership, Organisational Development & Learning practitioners and where appropriate external consultants in the development and delivery of the Leadership and OD strategy ensuring all programmes are aligned with the Strategic Workforce Plan
  • Working collaboratively and in partnership with HR colleagues, CPFT managers, All Professional Leads including medical, Partner Universities, the Local Authorities and NHS England to deliver an integrated multidisciplinary education offering and collaborative learning.
  • Be an active member of the Trust Leadership Team and Corporate Services Team providing strong and visible leadership and ongoing support in respect of the development of corporate policy and decision making.
  • Provide visible Learning, Organisational & Leadership Development leadership to the Directors, Clinicians and Senior Managers across the trust and services to support the Trusts ambitions and priorities.
