PTMWA is a women-led organisation whose vision is to ensure that people, suffering, or at risk of domestic abuse receive appropriate support.

We assist recovery by providing safe accommodation, specialist support services and by working in partnership with other agencies.

We also run the only museum dedicated to telling the story of women's fight for the right to vote at our Pankhurst Centre headquarters.

_ About the role:

_ ADViSE (Assessing for Domestic Violence and Abuse in Sexual Health) _

_Senior Advocate Educator - 1 role available_

The purpose of this position is:

  • To promote the ADViSE programme, to build and maintain effective relationships with sexual health teams, and to recruit local sexual health clinics to participate in the ADViSE programme
  • To provide inhouse training for sexual health teams on understanding, recognising and responding to domestic and sexual violence and abuse (DSVA)
  • To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around DSVA to sexual health teams
  • To encourage sexual health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer
  • To provide specialist, individual and needsled DSVA advocacy and support to female and male patients who are or have been affected by DSVA who are referred from participating clinics and to provide onward referrals where appropriate
  • To provide feedback on case outcomes to referring clinicians
  • To collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes and also with a view to further embedding and developing the ADViSE programme locally.
  • To line manage and to carry out supervision of the AEs in line with organisational policy, to carry out case management review of the AEs in line with organisational policy and act as an advisor/first point of contact for queries to the AEs and the GP Practice staff in the area.
  • This role has been assessed and confirmed as open to women only under the Equality Act 2010, schedule 9, part 1_

_ Salary_:
£ £32 798 per annum


_ Annual Leave_: 25 days plus Bank Holidays
