BPA Investment Solutions Actuary
A rapidly expanding Insurer is looking for investment solution actuary within the bulk purchase annuities (BPAs) deal team.


Responsibilities:


  • Working closely with Asset Management to construct and optimise portfolios with a focus on investment returns and capital efficiency.
  • Able to effectively engage at a technical level with the wider team to improve the pricing approach whilst working in partnership with asset management functions such as ALM (asset liability management)
  • Structuring and developing market risk solutions such as price roll forward structures.
  • Leveraging investment expertise to provide innovative solutions while pitching new clients.
  • Help clients understand their current assets and investigate options to help them transition them into asset portfolios that we can onboard as part of our pricing.
Requirement

  • Qualified Investment Actuary or CFA
  • Practical experience of fixed income analysis and modelling, including the development of cash flow models for bespoke projects and exercises
  • Experience of working in an investment role within an insurance/banking/consulting/asset management environment
  • A good understanding of the types of asset classes that pension schemes will use as part of their investment strategy
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work quickly and accurately with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience of interacting with a wide range of stakeholders (including external stakeholders)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders for the business. Including partnering with asset management colleagues & maintaining external relationships with asset managers/ investment banks as appropriate.
  • An interest in the both public and private markets and the ability to identify and understand macro trends within them.
