Emergency Allocations Accommodation Officer


LOCATION:

PAY RATE:
£16.35 per hour paye / £20.25 per hour umbrella

DURATION/HOURS: 3 months (possible extension)/ Mon-Fri 36 hours

Role purpose:


To identify suitable emergency temporary accommodation vacancies and allocate them appropriately, according to specified requirements and needs, to nominated households.

To carry out the complete process of booking, extending and cancelling emergency accommodation, ensuring good use of available stock, minimising voids in block booked rooms and ensuring value for money.

To accurately and promptly maintain all monitoring systems relating to this process.


  • To gather and maintain records and systems which show vacancies in emergency accommodation available for booking on a daily basis. Ensuring there is adequate information about the accommodation, so that appropriate matching to a customer's needs can be carried out and liaising with accommodation providers and teams to make nominations as required.
  • To maintain accurate records and systems of all customers nominated for emergency accommodation, including new bookings, extensions and cancellations. To liaise with teams making nominations to ensure all necessary information is available and the system is regularly updated. 3. To check all relevant records and appropriately match customers to suitable emergency accommodation vacancies, in line with the customers need's, council policy and statutory duties.
  • To make appropriate accommodation bookings and follow the agreed process for doing so, including transfers to ensure that no household is in emergency accommodation longer that the government.
  • To identify alternative emergency accommodation options for nominated households where no suitable accommodation is available in block booked accommodation or from the spot booking framework providers in liaison with team leader and the Contract Relationship Team Leader. 6. To ensure vacancies are used efficiently and effectively, prioritising and minimising voids in block booked rooms and value for money (cost, quality and appropriateness of the accommodation) when matching households.
