Jamie Greene MSP is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Parliamentary Assistant to join his team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a Member of the Scottish Parliament across a wide range of interests and roles at a crucial time in politics.

Although previous experience in a parliamentary or political office is desirable, it is not essential. Life and career experience will be considered in equal standing to an academic background. Coming from a PR, press, media, lobby, and digital background will be favourable. Knowledge of Scottish politics will be a distinct advantage.

This is not an entry level political gig; you will ideally be able to bring some gravitas to the role.

Applicants should be enthusiastic about the work of Mr Greene's office, whether in his role in parliament, Shadow Cabinet portfolio, or varied interests and cross-party activities.

• Possess strong and confident written and spoken communication skills, and an ability to think outside the box and strategise with Mr Greene.
• Have press and communications experience including skills in writing press releases, drafting columns or opeds, and be confident in pitching and speaking to journalists, and other highlevel stakeholders at the local and national level.
• Be professional, adept at multitasking and prioritising workloads, and understand this isn't a typical office job environment financial budgeting is an integral part of getting the office right as is timeous responses to enquiries from constituents.
• Have experience in social media management; digital and technical skills (i.e., knowledge of photo and video production or editing software) will be considered an advantage.
• Be open minded as to how to approach politics and live societal issues. We practice strict office discretion at all times due to the sensitive nature of what we do.
