We have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced and motivated Warehouse & Central Stores Controller to join our expanding company on a full time, permanent basis.

Utilising experience gained in a similar role, whilst ensuring the company policies and procedures are adhered to and objectives met, we are looking for an innovative individual who will make recommendations for improvement to efficiently manage the main stores facility and stock systems.


You must be punctual and presentable at all times as a representative of our business, have good communication skills and high attention to detail.

Whilst your main focus will be the management of the stores function and be based at our Doncaster facility, there may be an occasional requirement to make collections and deliveries where the need requires to ensure our operational field commitments are met.


  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • A general understanding of the Plant, Tools, Equipment and Consumables Engineering companies use
  • ECITB CCNSG (course can be provided)
  • ECITB Manual Handling (course can be provided)
  • IOSH Managing Safely (desirable, course can be provided)
  • FLT licence
  • Experience of the Microsoft suite of programmes
  • Excellent Housekeeping Skills
  • Good standard of computer literacy
  • An aptitude for selfmotivation
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to liaise with fellow employees, customers and the supply chain

Core Duties

  • Implementation and management of the company stock management systems to ensure the warehouse operations are sufficient to meet current demands.
  • Ensure the warehouse is a safe environment and company safety conditions are implemented where required
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping
  • Maintain the company electronic stock management system using Infrastructure 365 or other implemented stock system
  • Ensure the sufficient supply demands of general stock items are delivered to the relevant locations, on time and in full

Description of Role

  • Maintaining & monitoring the condition of the workshop, storage (internal and external).
  • Ensure housekeeping is kept to a high standard at all times
  • Ensure appropriate stock rotation is maintained and required storage conditions are met, i.e., welding rods, grinding discs etc, minimising waste
  • Monitoring and replenishment of general stock items to sufficient, costeffective levels
  • Ensure goods inwards are accurate, reporting shortages and damages as soon as practicable
  • Ensure inspection of equipment is conducted in accordance with company and current legislation requirements
  • Ensure distribution of site operational order requirements are fulfilled, on time and in full
  • Maintain an electronic inventory to include goods inwards, stock check, stock update and spend volumes utilising Infrastructure 365 (Intellect) or other company implemented stock systems
  • Carry out a main annual and regular stock checks in line with company directive, reporting losses and damages to procurement team.
  • Responsibility for recording site team's adherence to the procedures and performance, think timely, enough info, adapting to changing situations and communicating (could be done by a simple matrix scoring once a week)
  • Management of out sourced logistics, i.e. cabin movements, vehicle deliveries, couriers and plant etc
  • Appraisal, placement & raising of orders in line with the Delegation of Authority procedure
  • Communication of current stock levels reported to the business
  • Ensure the stock located on the premises, internal and external is secure and action taken where required to limit theft
  • Assist with delivery and collection requirements, nationwide, as required
  • Flexible attitude to working hours which may include early starts, late finishes, weekend work inc Bank Holidays and possibility to working away from the main site during but not limited to operational busy periods
  • Liaise with the site office manager to replenish general consumables and other general duties as instructed by the management team

Offered Package

  • Salary £30k per annum, negotiable dependant on experience, a salary review may be available following a probationary period. A performance review will be conducted with clear criteria to achieve
