Purpose of the role:

Working with the business to manage first line of defence governance activity for AIG UK.

This will include support for third party business partners and provide project management support for the launch of new products and third-party distribution arrangements.

Provide support for key regulatory areas including Conduct, Consumer Duty, ELTO (Employers Liability Tracing Office), Agency and Operational Resilience. Ensure compliance with internal AIG policies and procedures and external regulatory requirements.


Position Description:


  • Manage the thirdparty inventory and monitoring review timetable for our insurance third party arrangements.
  • Agree the scope of onboarding due diligence and ongoing monitoring reviews in conjunction with the contract owner, ensuring compliance with internal AIG policies and procedures and external regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake Third Party Management onboarding due diligence and ongoing monitoring reviews, as required.
  • Ensure there is a clear understanding of outputs of thirdparty reviews and that actions are communicated and tracked to completion.
  • Assist with issue remediation resulting from onboarding and ongoing monitoring activity.
  • Work with the contract owner(s) to provide project management support as required for new product launches and thirdparty distribution arrangements, ensuring that all required actions have been completed and appropriate business signoffs have been obtained prior to launch.
  • Provide support and coordination of Conduct Management Information, working with our other Governance Officers and the business ensuring we are compliant with the required receipt of MI and managing any alerts and risks identified within the data.
  • Support Operations on ensuring effective Operational Resilience is in place and Important Business Services are maintained within Impact Tolerance levels and escalate where these could breach.
  • Effective liaison with Claims on TPM governance
  • Support Conduct Director on oversight of Consumer Duty MI alerts & Vulnerable Customer reporting
  • Represent Operations Governance at Third-Party Management Forum, LPCC and other committees and forums, as required. Take on Lead role for the committees when required.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders and functions, including Compliance, Legal, Conduct and Risk on governance related areas.
  • Modifying existing processes and policies and making recommendations for policy improvements and guiding implementation.

Experience & Qualifications Required:


  • Ability to deliver projects and their associated benefits to an agreed timeline, budget and quality.
  • An understanding of Insurance regulations applicable to the sale of insurance products would be an advantage.
  • Experience in undertaking third party governance reviews and managing remediation actions.
  • Preferable to have knowledge around managing Delegated Authorities, Managing Agents & Appointed Representatives.
  • The ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
  • Strong customer focus experience in a customer facing insurance role preferred.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills written and oral with report writing experience.
  • Good organisational skills, timemanagement and the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Collaborative approach to working, but with the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills required to undertake analysis to identify issues or solve complex problems.
