Accountancy Recruit is partnering a client in Warrington to recruit an Accounts Assistant. Our client is an established owner managed SME with a strong history in their field.

This role would suit a Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Purchase Ledger or Sales Ledger Clerk with the ability and willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities within the finance function.


The Accounts Assistant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the credit and debtor ledgers, including daily banking and reconciliation.
  • Credit checks, setting credit limits and payment terms for new accounts and current accounts.
  • Processing payments.
  • Credit Control.
  • Responsibility for utilities.
  • General accounts admin.
  • Management of the digital cash book.
  • Processing sales invoices.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of company stationery, IT equipment and workwear.
  • Holiday and sickness admin and time clock.
  • Assisting Finance manager.
  • Booking hotels, train, flights, car hire etc.
To be successful in this role the Accounts Assistant will have the following experience:

  • Proven track record in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently within the finance team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to all financial/administrative deadlines.
  • Willingness to take on any ad hoc admin duties as required in a small company.
The salary advertised for this role is a guideline and the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
