Audit Assistant Manager Job Vacancy


This leading accountancy firm is looking for an experienced Auditor to join their team in Bury St Edmunds to support the Audit Manager leading a thriving audit department, both in the office and on-site preparing audits in the field.


This opportunity will suit someone who is ACA, ACCA or CA qualified, with at least one year of post qualification audit experience within an accountancy practice.

You'll have been working at a senior level and have some experience of mentoring and supporting junior team members.

You'll be able to effectively communicate technical matters in an easy-to-understand way for clients and a high level of attention to detailwill also be essential for this role.

You'll also be used to assessing risk and advising clients on potential solutions relevant to their audit investigations and findings.

Job Purpose

  • Manage audits from planning to completion.
  • Review of audit risk analysis.
  • Audit planning and sign off.
  • Plan audit tests.
  • Document audit findings.
  • Research and document other miscellaneous issues of relevance to audits.
  • Oversee the provision of general accounting services.
  • Corporate tax computations.
  • Mentor new trainees?and support with their learning and development.
  • Monitor client deadlines and ensure these are met.
  • Lead and inspire a team of auditors in the office and in the field.
  • Able to work alongside and part of the senior management team and support with company growth.
  • Ability to identify services that will add value to your portfolio of clients
  • Confident in supporting the Partners in networking activities to promote the department
  • Provide professional clientfacing communication skills
  • Set an example for the team as a natural leader

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA, ACCA or CA qualified with at least one year of post qualification audit experience within practice
  • Selfmotivated and reliable who is eager to progress
  • Technically efficient in both audit and accounting
  • A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team
  • Previous supervisory experience, with a positive attitude
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
