**SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Merton**FORWARD TEACHING is seeking a SEN teaching assistant for our client based in Merton.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Clear Enhanced DBS
  • QTS
  • Strong empathy, understanding and patience skills.
  • To be calm in challenging situations
  • Excellent parent liaison skills
  • Committed and reliable to providing the best support towards staff and other students.
  • Passionate about working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Has an excellent understanding of different approaches towards children's learning to fit individual needs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Work close with other teachers, therapists, teaching assistants and parents.
  • Provide ongoing support for behaviour management as well as promoting positive learning.
  • Create a happy, motivating and calm working environment where the pupils can develop within their education and morals.
  • Support teachers to help children with SEN.
  • Looking after the pupil's physical, social and emotional wellbeing
  • Observe, record and report back to the teacher about any student development or change

JOB TYPE:

FULL TIME

SALARY:
£86.50-£100 per day


SCHEDULE:
Monday to Friday


EXPERIENCE:


  • Special Education (1 year preferred)

LICENCE/CERTIFICATION:


  • QTS
  • A degree

WORK LOCATION:
In-person

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Merton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Bachelor's (preferred)

Experience:


  • Special education: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • QTS
