Description
The post-holder/s are responsible for direct clinical care for individual patients and groups of patients within their area of work.
After an agreed period of time, the post holder will be designated to co-ordinate the department in the absence of the department Sister, The post holder is expected to supervise junior staff and be able to teach qualified and unqualified staff, including pre and post registration students.
Although this post will be based in Outpatients, it will be primarily located in Main Outpatients or Beeden house; you will be expected to rotate to other OPD areas to support other specialties if required to meet the needs of the service.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a professional role model to junior staff and demonstrate leadership qualities.
Provide expert clinical knowledge and skills within the departments.
Work with the department manager and nursing team to develop and promote best nursing practice.
Take responsibility and facilitate all clinics and ensure they run to a timely manner ensuring patients are kept informed of delays and procedures required.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, staff and all MDT.
Be proficient in the facilitation of minor procedure clinics and ensure WHO checklists are completed as per theatre conditions.

Please review all documents attached to this advert to ensure you familiarize yourself with all requirements of the job.To coordinate the day to day running of clinics, assisting and supporting team members in all OPD areas.
To be able to prepare clinical areas for clinics including clinics in all OPD areas including main Outpatients, Cauldwell & Beeden House and to also be aware of other departments areas where rotation maybe required i.e.
Cardiology, Trauma & Orthopaedics & Oral Maxilla facial areas and have an awareness and competence of the decontamination procedures and policies.
To be able to assist the clinicians in undertaking sterile procedures including minor procedure clinics, fine needle biopsies, core biopsies, and nasal endoscopes.
To be aware of the appropriate and safe storage of substances hazardous to health i.e. formalin and liquid nitrogen.
To have an awareness of the HSSD track and trace systems and the importance of decontamination processes.
