This exciting role has been designed to drive and imbed improvements within the council's homelessness services.


As a self-motivated individual who doesn't accept second best, you will work closely with the Senior Programme Manager to take a systemic approach to driving transformational change, delivering key programme milestones and outcomes, including defining new structures.

We're transforming our city and the services that we deliver like never before.

You will help the Senior Programme Manager ensure that our approach to business transformation is embedded throughout the programme, and that we use data and performance and programme management systems to drive change and improvement.


You will be passionate about the connection between improving performance and the impact local government can have on the communities we serve, and working with others towards reaching social, economic, environmental, and cultural ambitions of the city.

You will enjoy working at a project and programme level and will be ambitious for the services we deliver. As necessary, you will attend senior management team meetings and committees as required.


Fixed term for 18 months

Interview date: 3rd & 4th July

This role is available as a secondment to internal applicants in line with our secondment policy.


About the role:


One of the key areas of focus is to support the Senior Programme Manager deliver the council's homelessness transformation programme, with a focus on embedding lessons learnt from a new homelessness triage service and prevention offer.


You will have responsibility for developing and delivering projects to improve the delivery of frontline services to customers whilst providing additional operational and project management support to wider aspects of the programme as and when needed.

You will carry out service reviews and research, development and analysis of best practice within homelessness and housing options.


You will support in the development of reports that will challenge and influence, using evidence, and help in developing our approach to service improvement.

You will develop communications and deliver engagement including consultations and workshops with key stakeholders.

You will be working collaboratively with colleagues across the council to make connections to deliver shared goals. You will have the qualities to build effective relationships. And with a varied workload you will be able to prioritise and work in an organised way.

Additional information:

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
