MailOnline is looking for a full-time talented Community Moderator to join the London team. This is an in-office role based in Kensington, London.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Monitor running list of filed copy and make judgement calls on the type of moderation required
  • Moderating reader comments based on house rules and legal requirements
  • Monitor user discussions and flag any issues with senior communities editors
  • Address reader queries relating to our communities policy and comments section

Person Specification:


  • 1+ years' experience in moderating for digital community boards
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns including weekend and night shifts
  • Prior journalistic experience desirable but not essential
  • Indepth knowledge of current affairs from hard news to celebrity gossip
  • Excellent judgment
  • Knowledge of social platforms
  • Understanding of legal covenants such as the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) and the UK Editors' Code of Practice

Shift Pattern


The shift pattern will be the following:2 weeks of day shifts, starting at 8am - 6pm and one week of nights starting at 5pm-2am.


Note:
All night shifts and weekend shifts are currently working from home. You will be required to work one shift over the weekends.
