Production Manager (Shifts)

Refresco UK - Nelson, Lancashire. Competitive salary, bonus and benefits.
It's all happening at Refresco, Nelson.

We have recently invested over £20 million in our state of the art technology projects including robotic beverage trays and rainbow palletiser solutions supporting our 4 high speed production lines.


We are now seeking a team of
Production Managers working on a shift pattern,covering 4 production lines, each managing approximately 25 colleagues when on shift.

This will include working some nights, evenings and weekends.

These are new roles due to growth and change at Refresco, Nelson. They will suit you if you are ambitious, and focused on your career development.

You will be learning from and working with some of the best in food and drinks production in the UK, and withsome of the latest state of the art technology in drink's manufacturing.


About the Role

You will report to the Operations Manager. The site is 24 /7. This is a 4 week 'Continental' shift pattern - 14 shifts of 12 hours each over 4 weeks - equating to 42 hours per week (2 weeks of days 6 am to 6 pm and 2 weeks of nights 6 pm to 6 am).Plenty of time off


You will lead a team on each shift of approximately 25 colleagues including 5 team leaders, responsible for managing all aspects of the manufacturing production process with emphasis on safety, quality and performance and of course aiming to increase thatall important OEE percentage The implementation of robust systems and plans, ensuring a productive and safe working environment and performance management of your team is a key part of the Area Shift Manager role and your target is to achieve the balancedscorecard of H&S, Quality, Performance and Service.


Together with your team you will be manufacturing a variety of drinks in many different PET bottle sizes - such as one litre mixers and two litre carbonated soft drinks (CSD) - for all the major UK supermarkets.


Your tasks and responsibilites as Production Manager (Shifts):

  • Lead your team to deliver the planned schedule to meet customer demand and targets.
  • Set and communicate OEE and KPI targets to your team.
  • Liaise with the engineering, quality, HR and technical functions to resolve issues, report concerns and improve OEE.
  • Own the safety culture to deliver the safety measures and improve the standards within the area.
  • Works on an 'audit ready' basis so BRC, ISO 9000, ISO 14001, GMP / Hygiene, ISO 18001 audits are not a special event.
  • Achieve the necessary product quality levels through a 'Right First Time' mentality and absolute adherence to defined standards.
  • Set clear goals and targets that everyone is aware of and held accountable to.

About You


Given that you will be leading a team in a position of responsibility, you will need to be a role model with energy, enthusiasm and great communication skills, so that everyone is completely clear on what they need to do and why they are doing it, and youall work collaboratively toward the same goals.

You will be comfortable communicating with senior colleagues too, putting across your ideas for improvement.


You will need experience working in a leadership or supervisory role in a Food Production or Drinks manufacturing environment, enjoying the fast pace and variety of this industry, and looking for your next challenge.
