Band - Family Therapist /Child/Adolescent Psychotherapist

"Do you have a passion for helping people struggling with mental health problems such as eating disorders? Do you wish to be part of a supportive and innovative team that works across Kent & Medway?If so, an exciting opportunity for Band 7 Therapists to join the All Age Eating Disorder team in Kent and Medway have arisen. We are looking for CBT Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Family Therapists and Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists to join the All Age Eating Disorder Team in Kent and Medway due to a recent expansion to the service.

North East London NHS Foundation Trust All Age Eating Disorder Service is based in the County of Kent.

We have a strong focus on training and research and team members benefit from excellent training and CPD opportunities focused around developing exceptional NICE concordant skills in working with eating disorders and related conditions in children and young people and adults.

The post-holders will be qualified fully registered HCPC/BABCP members with a passion for working in this area.

The post holders will be required to assess and treat all age patients who present with an eating disorder.

As the service is exclusively an outpatient service, the post holders will not hold an inpatient case load, but the post holders will work with adolescent units and adult units in order to maintain joint working and smooth transition into and out of inpatient beds.

The post holders will be expected to attend and participate in MDT team meetings as well as CPA meetings of cases on their case load.


The post holders will be required to hold a caseload and provide evidence based treatment to children, adolescents and adults who present with an Eating Disorder.


The post holders will support the staff team and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative.

They will supervise other staff members as required.

They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies.

There are two main bases within Kent in Maidstone and Canterbury with a number of outlying clinics. Travel is required across sites in Kent."

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.

As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.

The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
