We are recruiting for a School Administrator to join the team in Rochdale, on a short term temporary basis until October half term.

You will be responsible for providing administration support to senior staff, along with general school administration duties.


Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm (1 hour for lunch)


Rate of pay:
£12.18 per hour


Working Conditions:
Office Based

Responsibilities of the School Administrator:
  • Collecting and accounting for money, such as dinner/milk money, school trips, photographs etc.
  • Undertake work processing tasks, such as letters, reports and schedules
  • Note/minute taking of meetings along with typing agendas, booking meeting rooms and arranging catering
  • Maintain and collate registers and pupil reports
  • Accurately record and balance funds, for example petty cash, postage, telephone calls, school fund, etc.
  • Processing orders and preparing statements
  • Maintain school stock and supplies
  • Undertake pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils and liaising with parents/staff
  • Undertake reception duties, acting as first point of contact, answer telephone calls, sign in visitors and face to face enquiries
  • Follow Health and Safety and Safeguarding procedures, issuing badges, signing in/out of visitors and escorting visitors as required.
  • Make arrangements for external visitors, along with making arrangements such as school trips and events as directed.
  • Organise supply cover, under the direction of the Head Teacher

Person Specification of the School Administrator:

  • Experience using SIMS or similar schools systems is essential
  • Experience of administration work including financial administration
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Understand the importance of Safeguarding and child protection
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
