Fancy working in a dynamic, vibrant and award winning communications team?

We have a vacancy in our communications team.

This will involve assisting with internal communications; marketing or social marketing campaigns; development of the trust's intranet and websites, assisting with events and managing the corporate brand.


We're looking for someone that's passionate about communications, is creative and innovative in their approach and a good team player.


You must have a NVQ level 3 in public relations/marketing or other equivalent with knowledge of communications, media relations, social marketing, design and print.


Working within the communications team you will be joining a friendly and innovative team to create and assist with engaging campaigns.


Assisting with the development and implementation of effective internal and external communications projects and strategies, in line with wider team and corporate objectives.

Producing internal staff updates, social media content and media statements.


Producing a variety of publications and information materials, including sourcing content, interviewing contributors, writing and editing copy, filming and editing content, and liaising with designers.

Assisting with the management of trust events.

Supporting the communications team with brand management including systems to ensure information displayed in public areas is relevant and up to date


Assisting in ensuring that website and intranet content is up to date and relevant, including managing and supporting teams with content.


We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.

We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres.

We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.

The Communications Assistant will be responsible for supporting the team in developing, delivering and raising awareness of the Trust's work across internal communications channels.

They will be a a key member of the communications team and ensure efficient and effective systems are in place to support the wider work of the team.
