Description
As Commercial Manager - Powders, you will have both operational and commercial responsibilities.

Ideally you will have operational experience of leading and developing a team of Drivers, whilst having worked with clients commercially to improve and increaseprofitability by creating and offering tanker solutions that maximise fleet usage across the Powder sector.

You will have a knowledge of the accessible market and individual customer opportunities within it.

As well as operational control of your Drivers, you will also work closely with the Commercial team to develop, maintain and execute strategies to strengthen our Powder commercial pipeline within the UK.

Once you have grown the operational side of the Powders team you will assist the commercial team in finding, engaging with, securing and onboarding new customers.

Then managing their business and operational requirements on an ongoing basis.

  • Experience in logistics within the Powder or similar sector is essential.
  • CPC desired

Key requirements & skills:

  • Identification of key target customers and formulation of a business strategy in order to build strong personal relationships with customers
  • Have a high level of visibility within the sector and be seen as a trusted external face of the organisation.
  • Experience of developing and operational running a smallscale startup
  • Arranging and leading facetoface meetings with prospective customers, either visiting them or hosting meetings at sites
  • Lead the proposal process for new business, ensuring timely delivery and review of the proposal by the relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Recommendations on the proposal content (scope/positioning/presentation) and pricing for consideration by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a good working knowledge of the market/competitive landscape in the Powder sector
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current powders management issues and legislative framework.
  • Knowledge of relevant and service specific statutory requirements including health & safety and transport requirements.
  • Strong commercial acumen and proven experience in successful negotiation and delivery of service contracts and change processes.
  • Customer account management, development of existing accounts to identify which ones we could sell additional products and services to, new business opportunities, risk and method statements, all health and safety issues and all Powders related issues

The role will lead on commercial development activities and processes, focusing on supporting all activities that grow the Company's market share, strengthens its brand and reputation, deepens, and strengthens the understanding of our customers and their markets.
