    About the role:

    We are hiring Research Analysts for a Master's Apprenticeship programme starting in September 2025. You will make a significant impact from day one and earn an MSc in Economics from Queen Mary University. As a Research Analyst, you will be part of a project team advising on the competitive impact of a merger or conduct. You will research, analyse, and interpret how competition works in your client's industry, forming the basis of expert advice given to clients, competition authorities, and/or courts. You will work closely with your team to understand client issues, relate them to relevant economic theory, and support analysis with robust empirical evidence.

    Research Analysts join after completing their undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject, preferably economics but also welcoming applications from graduates with degrees in computer science, mathematics, and statistics.

    This position is ideal for candidates interested in post-graduate studies in economics who want to gain work experience and study simultaneously.

    • Analyse and interpret significant client data to deeply understand how competition works in your client's industry, including customer data, price and cost data, and competitor data/market shares.
    • Research how firms compete and identify key variables affecting their decision-making processes.
    • Ensure quality control, accuracy, and error-free work product.
    • Draft reports, interpret, and summarise analysis.
    • Undergraduate degree in economics, ideally with a focus on microeconomics, industrial organisation, and/or econometrics. We consider graduates with degrees in computer science, mathematics, and statistics.
    • Desirable skills: Stata and Excel.
