You will be working with a successful, dynamic and fast-growing Private Equity backed global logistics company operating within the Fine Art and High Value sector.

Currently operating from sites in London, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, and Paris.

The business is targeting significant growth both organically and via M&A on the back of its reputation for service excellence.

As the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for leading the transport and warehouse teams across two sites whilst supporting the business strategically to achieve its growth plans.

Role and responsibilities:

You will have full responsibility for all inbound and outbound operational activities through the effective management of the transport, warehouse, and storage functions with a strong focus on coaching and developing the operations team through 3 direct reports.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Assess and audit all operational processes identifying any areas for improvement and taking corrective action where necessary.
• Create and implement performance metrics to ensure the best service levels are achieved by transport and delivery teams.
• Ensure optimum warehouse performance by reviewing standards, layout, and efficiency of the current operation.
• Create a culture of engagement across the operations teams, encouraging training and development.
• Promote health and safety standards across the two locations, ensuring compliance with all HSE processes.
• Support the General Manager and Sales teams commercially by identifying opportunities to increase volumes with new and existing customers.

Experience required:

We are looking for a real people person that puts employee engagement at the heart of everything they.

A proven record in coaching and developing managers and colleagues will be key to your success as the business grows and integrates mergers and acquisitions into the team.

Experience of managing sales driven transport and warehouse operations is essential in this role as you will be working collaboratively with commercial teams to ensure the best customer service levels are achieved - experience in 3PL operations would be an advantage.

Being comfortable with managing operating budgets and P&L is important as you will be required to provide detailed reports on operational performance.

Any relevant qualifications in health & safety, project management, or continuous improvement (Lean) would be highly advantageous.
