Plant Speed is a heavy haulage company, operating from our site in Avonmouth, we are looking for a experienced HGV mechanic to work in our own workshop to maintain our fleet of trucks and trailers.

We are looking for someone with experience of carrying out mechanical repairs to HGVs, who is confident and competent in carrying out 6 weekly PMIs, MOT preparations and maintaining hydraulic systems.

Experience of working with a range of manufacturers. A strong knowledge of DVSA rules and regulations is essential.

A minimum qualification of NVQ/City and Guilds or IRTEC is required.

Requirements:

• HGV licence would be an advantage, but not essential)

Responsibilities:

• Daily monitoring of the defect reports.
• Ensure all Maintenance Requirements are met (MOT, PMI, Tacho Calibration, Brake Tests and Servicing)
• Confident, flexible and positive.
• An analytical problem solver that works well under pressure.
• Experience in all aspects of HGV maintenance
• Engines/Gearbox/Hydraulic systems/Brake Systems, Welding, and Electrical systems.
• MOT Preparations
