As a care assistant, your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Helping with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Providing daily living support by assisting with tasks like eating, drinking, and mobility.
Observing and reporting any changes in the individual's health or wellbeing.
Offering emotional support, companionship, empathy, and reassurance.
Assisting with light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
Identifying and minimizing potential risks to ensure the safety of the individual.
Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
Upholding the individual's dignity and privacy at all times.
Being prepared to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
Engaging in continuous learning and development to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge.

Requirements Skills and Experience:

Previous experience is not necessary but healthcare or social care experience will have an added advantage.
People from nursing home, hospital, community support or care home backgrounds are a good fit for these roles.
Having a NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or training to Care Certificate standards can be beneficial.
