We are currently looking to recruit a keen, enthusiastic and highly motivated FREED champion (First Episode Rapid Early Interventions for Eating Disorders) to join our Norfolk Community Adult Eating Disorder service, based in Norwich.


It is a very exciting time to join our services, with plans in place to develop our expanding service for adult eating disorders.

As FREED champion you will be responsible for leading and coordinating our early intervention service within NCEDS. An experienced clinical nurse would be ideal for this post. You will be required to work collaboratively and independently within our service.


You will lead with other senior colleagues the continuing development of a high quality service that is underpinned by evidence based practice and care pathways / packages and NICE guidance and DH guidance; leading on service development and policy in conjunction with the other senior clinicians, and Service Lead.

You will also have responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and management of lower banded staff within your team as required by your manager.


You will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services; working flexibly where appropriate and operationally required.

  • To take on clinical leadership of the FREED pathway with the NCEDS team.
  • To maintain personal and professional development by providing direct clinical work to individuals and their families with appropriate evidencebased intervention e.g., CBT, DBT, Motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, providing groups and activities in line with the recovery model.
  • To work collaboratively with all disciplines as part of a multi
- disciplinary team to assure a high standard of care for patients/clients and their relatives/carers.

  • To provide professional leadership within the specific pathway, working with relevant Team Managers, Matrons and Service Managers for the planning and delivering of practice and wider service delivery.
  • To participate in research and audit in the clinical field.
  • To encourage and develop user and carer involvement.
  • To support the Directorate with the investigation process and learning lessons from serious incidents and complaints
  • To undertake any other duties which may be required by the Team manager.
