Job Title:


Self Employed Children and Young Persons Therapist

Company/Service:


The Therapy Space. Working with children and young people affected by a range of problems.

Reports to:


Counselling Lead

Salary:


£ £28.00 Per Hr. depending on experience.

Hours:


Flexible working hours to be discussed

Purpose of role:

To work in partnership on a self-employed basis with Empower You Counselling.

To deliver high quality, effective and professional counselling to children and young people.

To participate in individual supervision and training to develop skills in counselling.


Qualified to at least level 4 diploma and be accredited or working towards accreditation with a governing body such as BACP.

You should also have a significant qualification in working with children and young people.

Supervision and insurance will be provided.


Principle Accountabilities:

Adhere to the code of ethics and practice set out by BACP


Be aware of and adhere to all company policies and practices, including safeguarding and confidentiality, to ensure the safety of clients and staff.

Maintain confidential records according to the data protection regulations and company procedures.

Maintain and deliver records to enable the company to effectively monitor the use of the service and feedback from the clients within an agreed timescale.

Participate in supervision and team meetings as required.

Take responsibility for professional development and training to maintain your professional status. Some CPD training will be offered.

Work in partnership with the company to ensure counselling services are delivered in a coordinated, professional and efficient manner.


PERSON SPECIFICATION:


Essential:

Recognized children and young people's counselling qualification.

Qualified to a level 4 counselling diploma or above that is recognized by a governing body such as BACP.

Excellent organizational skills.

Willingness to undertake additional training to maintain your professional status

Resilient.

Dynamic, enthusiastic, compassionate, professional and committed to working to a high standard.

Reliable and punctual.

Self-Motivated and driven.

The passion to want to work in partnership with someone to gain experience on a self-employed basis.

Sensitivity in working with complex family issues.


Desirable:

To have experience working with children and young people

Experience or be interested in either working or training in a Trauma informed approach.

Experience or be interested in working with a range of counselling theories and methodologies.
