GCU UK Ltd are looking for a
Lead FTTP Planner to take responsibility for the effective co-ordination and delivery of a technical design that provides enough detail and validated information (including safety risks) for client specific deliverables.


The Lead FTTP Planner will join a team providing high quality, professional fibre design services for telecommunications clients meeting obligations and duties under CDM2015 (as 'Principal Designer' or 'Designer') and NRSWA91.


Planner's Responsibilities

  • To lead and manage a client workstream, providing support to associates and apprentices to deliver results in accordance with client specifications and CDM2015 regulations (as Principal Designer or Designer)
  • To coordinate all planning activities from producing a 'concept design' for route walking/joint surveying to completing a 'technical design'
  • Identify health and safety risks from utility stats and field feedback
  • Produce Design job pack for the build teams and implement changes where required
  • At times support bespoke site surveys and associated design work to include RFCs, disconnects, diversions, MDUs and business parks
  • To actively support and protect data quality within GCU's asset and client management systems.
  • Support, develop and inspire future talent within the Planning career pathway

Qualifications, Skills & Experience required

  • Experienced lead/senior Planner with a proven track record of managing and delivering clients designs (whilst being client facing)
  • Good understanding and practical experience of CDM2015 and NRSWA9
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of civils route planning
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of fibre planning
  • Full understanding of UK local and national authority regulations in respect to civils engineering works
  • Working knowledge of industry recognised GIS software (ARCGIS/QGIS)
  • FTTP/FTTH methodologies and design

: 2 years (required)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
