We are recruiting for a Financial Controller to work for an established business based in Newton Aycliffe


Reporting into the UK Site Manager acting as their number two in the business alongside the Group Controller to drive the business forward.


The Financial Controller oversees all financialactivities within the site and responsible for the external financial reporting such as preparing the annual financial statement as well as managing the audit thereof.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversees accounting, financial reporting, analysis and preparation of financial statements, including schedules for tax compliance
  • Performs cash management functions and oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash disbursements, payroll and bank reconciliation
  • Manages day to day work and HR of the Site's finance team
  • Manages all payment systems and on line banking procedures
  • Produces financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, budgets, budgettoactuals comparisons and financial projections
  • Reviews and approves all invoices to be paid, as well as reviewing accounts receivable aging reports
  • Supports the Site Manager in driving the strategic and commercial objectives, ensuring that future forecasts and KPIs are consistently delivered
  • Coordinates with external tax accountants for income tax preparation and auditors who prepare internal audits of the company; this includes keeping company records organised and readily available for examination
  • Provides accurate and comprehensive financial information to Site and Group management for financial controlling and planning

Skills & Experience Required:


  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Microsoft AX/Dynamics
  • Expert skills in Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of UK accounting standards and principles as well as IFRS
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Preferably qualified CIMA, ACCA
