Company profile - Hedge Fund
In this Fund Operations job, you will be joining a strongly backed Hedge Fund. The fund was initially formed in 2011 with continual success throughout that time. Last year a new branch of the fund launched, which you will be working within.
They already have strong ties to investors with investments for the next 2 years. Essentially you will be joining a fund with highly successful infrastructure. They work across asset classes, but with a focus on equities.
Job description - Operations Executive
In this Finance Operations role, you will be integral to the running of a successful Hedge Fund.
You will be in a small team, working directly with the COO, which means you will have the opportunity to learn loads and take responsibilities across the board and the trade life cycle.
This is an initial 10 month maternity cover contract.
There is no guarantee a permanent role will become available, however the fund has strong plans for launch and there may be positions that do become available.
Key responsibilities - Operations Executive
- In this Fund Operations job in London, your responsibilities will include:_
- Full daily reconciliations for Equities, Swaps, ETD, FX
- Daily short position reporting
- Month end NAV Reconciliation
- Management of collateral and crossPB funding
- PMS Trade Management
- Corporate Action booking & monitoring
- Risk reporting
- Daily management reporting for counterparty risk, brokerage, fees
- Assist with production of monthly investor materials
- DTCC reconciliation
- Stock Lending
- Assist Fund Administrators with break resolution
Job requirements - Operations Executive
- A minimum of 2.1 from university
- 1+ year of commercial experience in a relevant role: within a hedge fund, in an operations department for a financial firm, middle office roles or a graduate scheme within an investment bank
- Experience of buyside Order Management Systems/Portfolio Management Systems
- Product knowledge surrounding equities would be beneficial, though they cover most asset classes
- Interest and desire to get into fund operations and an understanding of hedge funds
- Strong numerical ability
- Strong Excel skills
- Fantastic attention to detail, with the ability to keep many plates spinning at once
