We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion and interest for working with young people experiencing an eating disorder to join the RISE team (Rapid Intervention Service for Eating Disorders).

RISE are based in Tonteg Hospital and offer assessments of young people and their families/carers with Significant Eating Disorders and Eating Difficulties across the health board.

This Highly Specialist Team consists of Nursing staff, this Family Therapy post, a dedicated Dietitian and newly appointed psychiatry time.

The Team provides Psychological Interventions as recommended by NICE and the RCPsych Junior Marsipan Guidance; these include the Maudsley Family Approach, Multifamily Group Therapy and individual Psychotherapy including CBT-E.

The family therapist would take a lead on the Maudsley Family Approach and Multifamily Group Therapy. If not already acquired, training in the core Eating Disorder NICE psychological treatments will be supported alongside supervision.

The post holder will be encouraged to join the re-established 'community of systemic practice' that spans child and adult mental health services in CTMUHB, to ensure continuing professional development and supervision provision are in line with UKCP requirements'


In this role, you will provide a family therapy service to the clients across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board.

You will also provide consultation, supervision, and support the work of colleagues providing care and treatment.


You will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures as well as supporting audit, policy, service development and research.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
