The context for the County Council is changing.

In the period where we recover and rebuild following the COVID crisis, we will be faced with new and unknown economic and demographic pressures.

Our challenge will be to maintain quality services and providecommunities with greater choice and influence over how they receive services.

The Chichester community team (Based in Bognor Regis) covers a large, diverse geographical area.

The team work with adults age 18+ with a range of physical, mental health and substance misuse difficulties, providing statutory Care Act assessments, reviewsand completing safeguarding enquiries.

The volume of work is significant due to the large area covered. The team consists of 21FTE staff.

Salary:
£50,105 - £53,538 per annum

Working Pattern:
Full time, 37 hours

As a Team Manager, you will deliver an operational service through management of team activity and operating as the principal professional within that team.


This will include the performance management of the team or the service activity and the co-ordination, planning and delivery of agreed activities and objectives.

You will be expected to contribute to the development and shaping of our future team or groupservice provision; you will build and maintain relationships and influence activities including working across and outside of the organisation.


Experience and Skills


Being a Social Work Team Manager will require you to be confident in working with and offering advice about the statutory requirements of complex pieces of legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and all related legislation,while leading a strengths-based team and ways of working within the Community-led support model locally known as Supporting Lives, Connecting People.

Good managerial abilities are important for administering a budget and writing proposals. You will demonstrate an authoritative, applied knowledge of the specialist or professional discipline including technical theories and related principles.

Qualifications and/or experience:


  • Post graduate professional qualification relevant to the professional service specialism.
  • Relevant chartered status of a professional body or equivalent highlevel experience of involved practices.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant postqualification experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering or coordinating a quality customerfocussed service.
  • Experience of managing and leading staff.
  • Experience of managing a small budget.
  • Experience of supporting initiatives in a political environment.
