V-Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with one of the UKs most forward thinking, recognised and respected Multi-Academy Trusts to recruit 1 x Catering Assistant for one of their secondary schools in Barnsley, South Yorkshire to start work as soon as possible


Your main duties would include:

  • Assisting in the preparation, cooking and serving of food to staff and students
  • Producing meals of consistently high standards on a daily basis
  • Following food hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen in accordance with health and safety, food hygiene and COSHH regulations at all times
  • Washing dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, tables, and all other catering equipment in the catering environment
  • To clean on a daily basis all catering areas to an agreed standard, keeping them free from hazards
  • To act as a cashier as required, under supervision
  • To always ensure the safe operation of all kitchen equipment
  • Reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported, including notifiable diseases, in a timely manner

Job Specifics
Approximate hourly rate £11 per hour

20 hours per week, Monday to Friday working 10am-2pm

Term time only.

Work up until February although there is good potential for this to be extended

The successful applicant will have extensive previous experience working within a catering/kitchen environment, understand excellent customer service and will be able to communicate with school-age students appropriately
